Many factors including health affects students’ ability to learn.

Our school nurses’ primary role is to promote good health for our district’s students. Our nurses are valued members of our educational team who enhance students’ potential to attend school, participate in class and learn. They join the district in striving to reach our vision of collaboratively establishing a safe, respectful and caring environment that promotes student learning.

Because it is important for all school nurses and staff to know how to handle the day-to-day and emergency management of students with certain medical conditions, we ask parents to share specific information at student registration and update information as needed.

In order to safeguard the school community from the spread of certain communicable diseases and in recognition that prevention is a means of combating the spread of disease, the Board of Education requires all students to be immunized.   The immunization policy may be found here.

Students must be current with all immunizations required by law. The school principal may remove a student from school or establish a deadline for meeting requirements if a student does not have the necessary immunizations or authorized exemption.
