2024 MCS Summer Foods Program

This year, the MCS Summer Foods Program begins on
June 6th and runs through August 1st.
FREE five-day bags will be available for pick-up each Thursday from 12-1:30 p.m. Pick-up will be unavailable the week of July 4th.
Locations will be Grant Middle School, and George Washington, Taft, Hayes, and McKinley Elementaries. Have a great summer, Prexies!

Marion City Schools’ Nutrition Services Department strives to strengthen students’ health, well-being, and the ability to learn.  

The Department operates several USDA child nutrition programs including:

  • Universal Breakfast Program

  • National School Lunch Program – District Community Eligibility Program where all students eat for free

  • Child and Adult Care Food Programs

  • After School Snack Program

  • Summer Food Service Programs throughout the city

The Nutrition Services Department also operates extended outreach to support our students and community, which include: 

  • School based Resource Rooms to provide emergency food, clothing, personal hygiene products, school supplies and more to those students and families in need. 

  • Weekend Food Back Pack Program

  • Catering

  • Staff and Student Wellness Initiatives

  • Many other outreach activities
